This is one DIY holiday hostess gift I’ve been meaning to do for quite a while. In fact last Christmas, it was on my list to make for my sisters and for some reason I never got around to it. Tomorrow, we’re having brunch with my husband’s niece and her sweet family. This is one busy lady who needs some pampering. So I made this lavender sugar scrub – an idea I originally found on my friend Tanya’s blog, Lovely Greens.
This is another super quick and easy project once you’ve accumulated the ingredients:
You’ll need some lavender flowers, sugar, coconut oil and Lavender Essential Oil. You can find coconut oil at most health food stores if your grocery store doesn’t carry it. Same for the essential oil – health food store or craft store (I found mine at Michael’s). And a pretty Square Clear Jar to give away. I love these square jars with the clamp lids.
Measure enough granulated sugar to fill your container, then transfer it to a mixing bowl. For my jar, I needed about 4 cups of sugar. Then I added about 1/4 cup of lavender flowers, 6-8 drops of essential oil and 2 heaping tablespoons of the coconut oil. Mix this around until it’s all incorporated.
