Here’s a look at some of the fall decor at New House New Home…. Fall is my favourite time of year. In fact, I think I like decorating for fall and Thanksgiving (which is only a few weeks away here in Canada) more than decorating for Christmas. It’s not completely finished yet, I still need to add some pumpkins outside. But the inside of the house is looking more autumnal as the weeks go on…..
You’ve seen the full kitchen tour last week with it’s rusty scale and dollar store pumpkins (given a facelift with some chalk paint). But I added a new item to the vignette – a subway art fall board. Here’s a sneak peak. I’ll be sharing the story behind it next week.
The dining room takes on a special glow at this time of year as the leaves start to thin and the sun streams through the west facing window. The room has taken on a lighter look now that some of the furniture has been painted, so I didn’t want to go heavy on the traditional oranges and rust in this room.
You may recall seeing this stand on the sweets table at my daughter’s recent wedding. It’s found a new home on the sideboard and has been dressed for fall with a collection of real white pumpkins, some faux pumpkins and real pumpkins painted gold.
So simple to do, these are real miniature pumpkins I quickly sprayed with gold Krylon paint. They took less than an hour to dry and look like a million bucks!!.
The other end of the sideboard has my trusty wine box which seems to land up in most of my vignettes. A little gold pumpkin adds a bit of glitter and autumnal touch.
The living room gets a touch of fall with this no-sew pillow. There’s already a lot of rusty orange as it’s the complementary colour in the room. So I don’t like to add too much orange. These pillows are so easy and I’ll show you how in an upcoming post.
