A Mid-Winter Break

Do you ever feel like there's no more creativity left in you? That there's no inspiration left? No recipe to share? No project to show off? That's me right now.

I'm blocked. Creatively blocked. Mentally blocked. Time blocked.

After a whirlwind of activity giving our kitchen a facelift, decorating, cooking and entertaining for Christmas, a family illness (everything's okay for now) and a general winter lethargy, I'm finding myself uninspired. There is a garage full of furniture to paint, a pile of fabric for curtains and pillows to sew, a pantry full of ingredients. But I'm not feeling inspired enough to do anything right now.

the promise of spring on this frosty viburnum might rejuvenate me

So I'm taking some time away from the blog for a week or so. We're heading south for a family wedding on Monday night, so I'll be out of the country for a week.

the warmth and romance of a fire on a winter's night will help

Maybe a week of sunshine, relaxation and some romantic time with my husband will rejuvenate this creative soul. See you soon. I'll be back.

A little sunshine will do amazing things for your soul! Plus, I've had to be pretty creative lately (with lots of inspiration from you and mom) so don't worry - there will be pictures of cute odds and ends from the wedding you can post if you're too tired once you get back :)

The sunshine will do wonders for your soul! I have no doubt that you will find inspiration once you return - for food, blogging, and photos :)

Have a wonderful time in the Dominican, Heather! Rest & relaxation, sunshine & romance...just what the doctor ordered. Forget about this online life and think about you and your family.
See you when you are ready to get back at 'er!
