There she sat. All alone at the back of the garage/workshop. Lonely, forlorn, a little rough around the edges. Who am I kidding? Filthy dirty and covered in cobwebs, signs of abuse by raindrops. She came home with me anyways. I knew that this tea cart needed a makeover and I was just the person to do it!
You’re probably wondering why the red wheels…..Emperor Silk to be exact. They pick up the red in the area rug in the room which is also in the living room area rug and also the same colour as my Emperor Silk side table in the living room. Continuity counts in our house.
I’m still playing with the effects of the dark wax….sometimes I like it (like here) and sometimes I don’t (as in the major fail night chest I just painted Chateau Grey and Graphite – more to come on that later). But here it works because it picks up the details on the handle and trim of this little cart and tones down the creaminess and brightness of the Emperor Silk.
