We spent some of yesterday working in the vegetable garden. The picture above was taken about 3 weeks ago. What a difference in the garden now - you can't see the soil at all now. The pumpkin (the yellow flowers in the bottom centre) is now over the edge of the raised bed and trails along the grass 6 feet. The tomatoes are as high at the little trellises holding up the peas. If I were to take this shot now, you wouldn't see the old fence at all.
Although I've already picked about 5 medium sized zucchini, I'll be faced with a couple of monsters when I get back from our little trip. I've actually been growing some really big ones so my grandsons can pick them on the weekend when they visit. My son always loved it when I grew the zucchini extra big when he was a kid. It will be fun to share that tradition with his boys.
So I'll be faced with what to do with all this zucchini and that's where the All Star Block Party comes into play.
My featured post for this week is this fabulous zucchini bread from Ashley at Project Bazaar.
We're also picking beets right now. Had some fabulous roasted beets on a salad last night. If you shy away from beets, take the plunge as they are delicious! I can't wait to try this recipe....

I'll be back Thursday with another edition of the All Star Block Party!!
